Description
Vanford – a completely new model in the Shimano reel family, replacing the well-known Stradic CI4+. Built upon a CI4+ body for both a lightweight feel and carbon rigidity, the Vanford incorporates a MagnumLite (MGL) rotor for up to 48% less rotational inertia than traditional rotor construction for a quick response in critical situations. The Vanford features Shimano’s cold-forged Hagane gear and many of Shimano’s premium technologies for increased fishing performance and years of durability. Vanford’s SilentDrive and MicroModule Gear II technologies combine to produce a new level of smooth rotational performance while reducing overall reel vibration. Vanford also incorporates Long Stroke Spool technology to increase casting distance while producing a smoother line lay on the spool during retrieval. X-Protect technology and water-channeling construction enhance Vanford’s water resistance and overall durability — an important feature for a reel sure to be found in inshore environments.
- CI4 + - is an enhanced version of the original CI4. This material is 2.5 times stronger than CI4 and is used in many Shimano coils to increase weight savings. The use of CI4 + on the housing and rotor also provides considerable rigidity to improve coil efficiency.
- G Free body - the center of gravity of the reel is shifted closer to the hand, so the reel balances much better with spinning and has a noticeably better feeling in the hand.
- Hagane gear - the main pair of gears is made according to a special technology, in which the metal is compressed with a force of 200 tons, and then ground and polished to microns. In this way, the main gears are of increased strength and provide a very easy ride.
- Long stroke pool - The long stroke reel has a longer stroke compared to a conventional reel design. This longer stroke specification provides greater throwing distance.
- MGL rotor - The new Magnumlite rotor design creates unprecedented lightness and balance. The rotor profile, which was previously symmetrical, is now asymmetrical. The rear lever mechanism, which was previously on one side of the twine roller, has been moved to the opposite side. It improves balance, has an optimal rotor thickness arrangement and achieves a 48% saving in rotational inertia, increasing sensitivity to previously unattainable levels.
- Micromodule II - a technology that creates very precise gears themselves, their "teeth". Each "tooth" is formed down to the smallest detail, so there is practically no sound when the spool is cut, and the spool has a very velvety course.
- S A-RB - special bearings, which can also be used in salt water, and which are protected against rust and corrosion.
- Siltendrive - all coil components are carefully designed to minimize the various noises that may be present during use. Thus, the coil is absolutely quiet. The new shape of the rotor also does not make additional noise.
- X Protect - a system that protects against the ingress of water inside the coil. Thanks to the special design, as well as the use of a special lubricant, the maximum effect is achieved, which is equivalent to the IPX8 standard. The coil is securely protected from water entering inside.
- X Ship - a technology that provides additional power. The optimal positioning of the gears is selected, the dimensions of the gears to achieve a much better performance.
- Waterproof drag – special rubber seals provide protection of the service brake against moisture.
